Preparation :
The aluminum backing of each medallion is roughened at the factory prior to being shipped, to provide better adhesion. Be sure to fully clean the aluminum surface before placement, to remove all dirt, grease or other residues.
Check the floor surface. It needs to be uniformly level, and completely cleaned of any grease, dirt or other residues. Place the medallion face up on the chosen installation site, and mark the size & shape of the medallion on the floor. Make sure you have a 2-3mm space between the medallion and the surrounding tiles.
Installation
There are several adhesives that can be used when installing medallions, including high end latex modified thin set. We suggest that you back butter the medallion with the adhesive. Trowel in the area with a minimum 3/8" notched trowel.
Place the medallion on the floor; gently settle it into the adhesive by tapping it gently with a rubber hammer or mallet. Medallion should be centered within your previous drawing lines, and surface should be flush with the surrounding tile.
