Granite quarry Dolní Požáry Prosečnice, near Prague, is one of the oldest still operating quarries in the Czech Republic. The extraction of the granite started already in the second half of the 18th century. Grey granite, previously called konopišťský granite and later – požárský granite, named after the nearby village Dolní Požáry, has always been considered to be one of the most famous grade of our granite.
