Nestled in the porphyry plate, not far from the Grand Lake Monticolo in the municipality Eppan in South Tyrol, the quarry looks back on 70 years of history. The logo of the company emphasizes on the one hand this very special position of the mining site on the lake and raises the other hand, the unique shades - gray, red, violet, figured - the Monticolo porphyry forth.
The Contractor Hannes Mathà took over in 2007 the leadership of the company and has the structure gradually renovated and adapted to modern needs. In the quarry, the plates are broken down and processed further, eg. As for bricks, pavement, curbs, floor panels, etc.
The excavated in the quarry porphyry was used because of its high quality and frost resistance initially almost exclusively for the design of roads and village squares, it is used lately increasingly in horticulture.
