Ball Eye Blue is a blue, deep purple, beige mix color, very rare vein of Limestone/Fluorite conglomerate known famously as ‘Blue John’. The vein in the marble varies in colour from Amethyst on the outer edge of the deposit to Royal Blue towards the middle. The density of Fluorite increases at the centre of the vein reducing the volume of marble thus creating this visually stunning example of polished marble. The block which the marble slabs are cut from is known as the only block known in existence making the Ball Eye Blue marble slabs the true jewel of Derbyshire.
