This deposit has been drilled to test for quantity and consistency and several test blocks have been extracted and slabbed. Industry sized blocks of 30 tons (2 x 2 x 3 meters) can be easily quarried. Due to pervasive but disseminated silica content this soapstone while easy to cut is very durable and strong. To date there appears to be no comparable stone being offered in world markets.
The deposit forms a large hill and is estimated to contain more than 50 million tons of quarryable material. It is easily accessible, and has easy access to water and electricity. Tidewater and port facilities are located less than 20 km away. Gander International Airport is a 20 minute drive from the deposit site.
Owner is seeking assistance to conduct market tests and develop quarry operations.
