Some of the materials that were used by the Romans are the today Mykalissos Gold & Mykalissos Red marble .The quarries are located at the site of Ritsona southeast of the Messapio mountain also known as Ktypas and specifically at the intersection of old highway Halkidos-Thebes with the road Ritsona-Vathy Avlidos, in Hani.
