Beola Grigia Servezzo Gneiss Slabs

Granitoid orthogneiss, grey in colour, with homogeneous medium to fine grain-size (coarser than the Beola Ghiandonata). Equigranular foliated texture and rare mineralogical lineation. The medium-grained micas define the spaced cleavage.

Mineralogical composition:

quartz, K-feldspar (microcline), plagioclase, biotite and muscovite (similar in abundance), rare chlorite and epidote.

The firm excavates the Grey Beola quarry located at Servezzo near Trontano. The Grey Beola from this quarry is known as S Grey Beola

Quarrying gangsaw blocks of S Grey Beola , a traditional stone of the Ossola valley, well-known and valued for its characteristics and widely used in building.
