Basaltina^® was known since the Roman times as "Pietra Aniciana". The ancient Romans used Pietra aniciana to build the roads and monuments of their empire. Through the centuries the quarries were constantly excavated by local craftsmen. The life long dream of Giuseppe Tecchi Cristofori Celiani was to gather all the quarries under one owner. In 1925 the dream of his life was realized and Basaltina S.r.l. was established.
Since the beginning, the Company has been committed to developing its technology and to improve its excavation and manufacturing process. This has allowed Basaltina S.r.l. to rapidly grow and become an internationally recognized company. Basaltina^® stone has given life to some of the most famous architects projects, enhancing their creations.
