Gotland Sandstone Restoration Stockholm Palace

Stockholm Palace, or Kungliga Slott Swedes also calls it, has a great place in Swedish history, both as a building and symbol. The behavior of the present castle was begun in 1690`erne when Sweden was one of Europe's great powers. The castle was the country's center and the repræsentatives face - embellished with facades with many decorations made of sandstone.
The building attracted much attention in Europe, and still do today. Stockholm Castle is one of the European barokarkitekturs flagships. It is Northern Europe's largest castle and still functioning today as the Swedish king's official residence.
The facade of Stocckholm Castle has an area of approximately 30,000 square meters. One third of it consists of natural stone with great ease. Roslagssandstenen on the lower portions of the castle cracks as the jernankrene rusting. The decorations in Gotland sandstone on the facades upper parts are very weathered and sides resolved. The facades are covered by nets to avoid injuries when the stones fall down.
Now restore State Property Board facades, in the most extensive facade work in recent times in Sweden. It is anticipated that work will go on for 25 years and will cost SEK 500 million.

Raadvad Stenhuggeri ApS has, together with Gladsaxe New Stenhuggeri A / S, stonemason contract for the restoration of Stockholm Castle. New stone was started in November 2012 at the workshops in Raadvad, Gilleleje and Herlev. Demontering- and installation work on the castle itself has been going on since February 2013 and is in collaboration between several contractors and our 4 posted journeymen in Stockholm.
