Jeff and Candy Gammelin started Freshwater Stone in 1976 after constructing their own home out of local natural fieldstone. Today, the stone work company has grown to employ 50 people year round. Our stone work company facilities cover 22,000 square feet located on 20 acres in Orland, Maine. Our natural stonework and stone masonry can be found across the world in fireplaces, chimneys, kitchens & vanities, stone work landscaping, monuments, columns, towers, and more.Granite: Why every homeowner wants a piece of the rockOur state-of-the art natural stone work company shops house construction, fabrication, architectural and sculptural divisions. The complementary nature of these departments gives us the unique ability to create virtually anything in stone.In addition to granite, marble, limestone, soapstone, and other stones, the stonework company also owns a granite quarry where the signature Freshwater Pearl granite is mined. The quarry is located just 10 miles from the plant and showroom.
