Joseph G. Hall, 96, founded monument firm
Joseph G. Hall, 96, of Todt Hill, owner and founder of the Staten Island-based Joseph G. Hall Monuments and Hall Funeral Car Co., died yesterday in St. Vincent's Medical Center, West Brigthon. 
Born in Manhattan, Mr. Hall moved to Midland Beach in 1917 and to Bethlehem, Pa., in 1918. He retruned to Midland Beach in 1919 and moved to Grant City in 1920 before settling in Todt Hill in 1951. 
Mr. Hall owned and operated Joseph G. Hall Monuments and Hall Funeral Car Co., both in Grant City. The funeral car company was closed in 1996 after seventy years of operation. Mr. Hall owned the monument business for fifty-six years. In the 1980s, he opened the Joseph G. Hall and Sons Monuments, Pleasant Plains; it is now operated by his grandson, Brian Hall.
