Since 1998, the Cantería del Somontano is a company of the Comarca del Somontano de Barbastro and the Rey Ardid Foundation, specialized in cutting, carving, and finishing stonework elements, custom-made and on request, in sandstone, and whose function is to advise, design and manufacture architectural or decorative elements, which are supplied to construction companies for their application in rehabilitation and new construction.
As a Special Employment Center, it also fulfills the mission of recovering the trade of Cantero, training people with disabilities to later insert them into the labor market.
Using computer-aided design and numerical control cutting (CAD-CAM), elements that are otherwise unfeasible are obtained through traditional techniques due to their final price or complexity.
Arches, lintels, columns, cornices, moldings, ashlars, cladding slabs, flooring, carvings, and a host of elements are available to anyone who wants to keep them or incorporate them into their buildings, at a reasonable cost, and to suit them.
