The year 2000 and the new century The year 2000 and the new century has brought with it profound changes for the Italian stoneworking world. New emerging markets such as China, India and Brazil are exploiting their geological resources and the Italian technology and are overwhelmingly entering into competition with our production. New and different challenges are posed by globalisation of Italian companies which need to seek new ideas, new projects and new solutions to face up to this challenge. The company is hence engaged, now more than ever, in seeking modernisation, fully-developed technical and business solutions and new international alliances that will allow it to directly enter the local economies in a process of internationalisation and globalisation essential for continual development. The Chinese joint venture has been operational since 2001, the Brazilian participation was perfected in 2002, and cooperation with an Indian company is in the analysis stage and should be concluded within 2004. A profound reorganisation of production, management and marketing as well as obtaining the Natural Stone marking and certification of the Quality Management System is our way to meet this new challenge, striving to always be active players on the market attentive to the new requirements of our clientele.
