Pietra della Lessinia

The Lessinia Stone company was founded by Luciano, Luigi and Adriano Quintarelli in the early 1960s, when the stone was still extracted and cut by hand. The Quintarelli family became masters of the art of stonework and over the years passed on their skills and experience to their sons. In the 1980's, the second generation of Quintarelli brothers decided to pool the knowledge, experience and skills they had accumulated over years in the family business, and set up the company we now know as "Pietra della Lessinia S.r.l." (Lessinia Stone Co.) At the same time the Quintarellis introduced more modern and efficient working methods while keeping alive the traditions and working practices which had ensured that products made of Lessinia stone were so distinctive. The result is a perfect combination of modern machinery with highly qualified operators and expert stonemasons who still master the art of hand finishing the stone products. Nowadays "Pietra della Lessinia S.r.l." still has its headquarters in Schioppo, a village in the comune of Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo near Verona where the first production plant was established many years ago. Over the years the Lessinia Stone company has made a name for itself both locally and around the world for the distinctive products in which the stone is used. The stone is used in many different places with a variety of finishes, for example the promenade by Lake Garda in Lazise near Verona, the paving in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Modena, the paving and flooring of the Toyota Office District in Rome, a major project by the architect Mario Botta, an important project for the F.A.O. and a large residential area in Kuwait; and finally the internal paving of the University in Kuwait City. Another important characteristic of the "Pietra della Lessinia" company is the ability to carry out specialised design projects thanks to their highly skilled workers. It is also important to note that the company has been certified DIN ISO 9001: 2000 in confirmation of the quality of its internal management and as a guarantee of its commitment to guaranteeing customers the highest level of satisfaction .
