Carrieres Jullien SA

Quarries Jullien is a branch-office of the group "Quarries of the Condroz" and is situated in the middle of the Condroz region at Les Avins, near Clavier. They occupy an important place in the stone-industry and represent 30 % of the production of blue limestone in the Condroz basin. The blue limestone from Les Avins is renowned for his character and experts consider this stone as one of the most beautiful. The quarries Jullien exploit two deposits which occupy ten workmen. The workshop is well-equiped with modern machinery and there work 25 persons. The annual capacity of exploitation amounts to 2000 m³ of blocs , sawn by a diamond cable saw. The production of the workshop can be translatable as follows : 15 % blocs for sculptures and slabs for stonemasons. 70 % finishes for building, public or private resort, furnishes, sepulchres etc. 10 % for flooring. the rest for different applies.
