Granite is a polished natural stone that glistens with crystals due to compressed minerals.Granite is an igneous rock that is composed of four minerals - quartz, feldspar, mica, and usually hornblende. Granite forms as magma cools far under the earth's surface. Because it hardens deep underground it cools very slowly. This allows crystals of the four minerals to grow large enough to be easily seen by the naked eye. It is used for monuments because it weathers slowly. Engravings in granite can be read for hundreds of years, making the rock more valuable. The stone can be used to create decorative mosaics or when combined with another product such as concrete, it can create mass ground cover.It can be used for surfaces both inside and out, such as aquariums, ponds, bird baths, patios, gardens, fireplace surround, paths, feature walls etc....
