Soapstone Green Dry Fireplace

As a stone sculptor, stone fabricator, and experienced tile setter, Greg Bergmann observed a growing interest in Soapstone in California. Greg began importing soapstone slabs for use by craftsmen wanting to install stone counters themselves. As the interest and demand grew, Greg realized there was a need for a supply of high quality soapstone and it’s installation. In 2004 Greg and his wife Wendy created Soapstone West a few months later that year with partners created Soapstone West Inc with Greg as C.O.O. and the licensed general and specialty contractor for the corporation.
In 2008 Greg and his partner dissolved Soapstone West Inc and Greg and Wendy started Soapstone Werks. Soapstone Werks, while continuing to provide excellent soapstone and installation will also offer custom sink building as well as other special projects with an artistic approach Greg feels can be incorporated into the practical applications of soapstone.
