There are about 9.5 stones per square meter including the upper lobe of 60 mm. Weight per square meter is about 40 kg. A pallet contains approx 17 sqm.
Norefjell slates are from northern China. This is a slate found in layered rock. This makes the fission and gives a natural finish.
Norefjell slates do not need any maintenance under normal use. The slate is frost resistant according to standard th 12326-02. Tests at SINTEF and similar institutions in Europe shows a vannabsorba-tion of 0.20. This is below the limit of frost safety is 0.40. A copy of the report-ten Sintef sent on request.
During the assembly and the mechanical stress can cause breakage of some elements that need to be replaced. Slate roof can withstand the same snow as other types of roofs.
We recommend that routinely performed cleaning of gutters and drains to ensure proper drainage from the roof. This reduces the risk of ice formation that can damage the roof.
