Gabbro Diabase has a very dark shade of grey which is almost black. Its specific weight is higher than that of granite.
The rock is far less friable than granite or syenite. It is formed as a result of rapid cooling of basalt magma which had extruded onto the surface and cristalized.
The stone can be used as wall cladding plates.
