Basalt (Latin: basaltes - touchstone) – volcanic base rock. It is the most common rock of the entrails of the earth. The structure is mainly crystalline, with high density, the color is black or dark grey. It is a decorative stone, easily abraded and is distinguished by its resistance. Basalt doesn't burn and can withstand up to 1500°C temperature.
