Petrological description
A blue-gray to black shales (muscovite-sericite-schist) the geological era Ordovician (Caledonian orogeny).
General description
Porto Slate is a muscovite-sericite-schist, which is mined in the north east of the provincial city of Portugal Valongo. It was formed about 400 million years ago in the age of the Ordovician. Today he is one because of its robust surface and its massive blue-gray to deep black hue to the top slate week. Porto slate is one of the well-cleavable natural stone and is just as good as for floor and wall tiles for all large-sized workpieces. In order to be able to move more easily, we deliver bottom plates in a uniform calibrated thickness.
