Cop Crag
Quarried nr Otterburn in Northumberland, this is a very distinctive sandstone.
Cop Crags character is in its variation of colour, from its background of rusty buff to swirls of browns and splashes of pink this stone is certainly unique, and individual.
Cop Crag has been notably used for the distinctive Victoria Gardens Shopping Arcade in Harrogate, and the restoration of buildings at Durham Prison and Durham Castle. More recently it has been used for The Rutland Building, Edinburgh, and The Medical School, Glasgow.
