RED GRANITES

"As hard as granite", "grind away at books" (Russian variant: "to gnaw granite of science") – it was right to make so many proverbs about one of the most hard minerals on our planet – granite. Being previously molten magma, in a hundred years it converted to hard mineral, which currently is very popular and applied in building as finishing and surfacing material. It is also widely used for production of various memorial complexes and even fences.
There are several deposits of red granite in the territory of Ukraine. Each of them worth noticing.
Kapustinskiy granite, for example, due to its deep red colour and bright pattern without any disseminations, is widely used for production of memorial complexes and pleasant trifles for landscape design. In spite of hard structure, granite of Kapustinskiy deposit is kind for treatment, due to which the finishing facture looks exclusively. Kapustinskiy granite is recognizable due to large grain pattern, which changes depending on sawing.
Mezhirichskyi granite is brown with pink chatoyancy. Granite of Mezhirichskyi deposit is quarried by large-sized blocks, which are easily sawn for beautiful and even pieces, if any. That's why such red granite is ideal for many types of building.
Leznikovskiy granite is a beautiful and noble stone. Its coarse-grained structure and deep wine red colour with black disseminations is appropriate for any branch of activity – from fence construction to manufacturing of decorative knobs for the stairs. Unlike other types of red granite, Lezhikovskiy is distinguished with extra hardness. So, not every stone dressing craftsman will agree to work with it. But high frost resistance and density distinguish it among all other granites.
