Product Description
Burlington slate is quarried in the English Lake District from Ordovician and Silurian deposits from sedimentary rocks metamorphosed by millions of years of intense heat and pressure within the earth's crust.
Welsh slate is extracted from the 590 million year old Cambrian slate deposits of North Wales and Ordovician slate deposits at the Truthville Quarry, North America altogether offering the largest range of slate in the world. All products are produced to the highest standards and quality and are suitable for almost any application.
Both quarries yield stones with subtly different tones - ranging from pale green to blue grey - often highlighted by contrasting veins which emphasise the natural origins of the material. Design constraints for external slate paving are similar to those for internal flooring, but with the additional requirement to ensure adequate drainage falls.
Hardscape offer a comprehensive range of slate material available in various sizes to suit. For further information and samples please contact our main office.
