Macroscopic description:
The hand sample is grey coloured, fine grained with schistose fabric.
Microscopic description:
The thin section shows a clear anisotropy underlined by the orientation of the mica
lamina and of the level of quarzt.
The mineral are:
Quartz (65-70%) in allotriomorphic grains whose dimensions vary from 0.10 to I mm;
White mica(20-25%) in lamellar crystals that reach the 1.5 mm of length; sometimes are
present intergrowth of chlorite,
Feldspar for about lÙYo rn grains from 0.15 to 0.7 mm;
Apatite, opaque minerals, chlorite are present in percentage less then 5 Yo.
The rock is a quartzitic paragneis
