Product Description
Jura limestone is the trade name of a beige to grey-blue limestone which comes from the geographical region of the Fränkische Alb. The main quarries are located in the Titting-Kaldorf area. This is a fine-grained limestone as show by the deposition of lime.
The size of the usable strata is about 45m and some layers are up to 1,60m thick. The strata are separated from each other by thin layers of marl. They are broken into usable block sizes by drilling and splitting. Here the geological conditions such as splits and cracks in the rock have to be taken into account. Modern wheel loaders drilling and conveyance equipment have to be used for the work in the quarry.
The natur colours of the rock are beige, grey-blue and a mixture (grey-beige-mixed) of these shades.
