Grampians Sandstone Facade Wall Cladding

Our favourite stone in the world - and we are privileged enough to be located not far from the source! Grampians Sandstone is uniquely beautiful, varying in colour from a creamy white through to rich fawns, ochres and reds, and all from the same 150 year old Victorian sandstone quarry. Unlike most sandstones it is extremely fine grained and carries little banding or obvious striping.
Grampians Sandstone is a remarkable and ancient sandstone (one of the world’s best) in that it is uniquely durable, having sat compressed under the weight of the southern Grampians on the world’s oldest continent, for 240 million years or so. This compression means that the quarrying and processing yield can be low due to fractures in the quarry, but it also gives Grampians Sandstone significantly enhanced strength and durability, that complements the stone’s beauty.
