Product Description
The name andesite is derived from the Andes mountain range in South America. Being one of the most frequent igneous rocks in the Carpathian Basin, it is formed by the solidification of the magma rising to the surface. It can appear both as single and coherent blocks of stone, or foliated from horizontal to slant layers. The andesite has varied nuances: brownish grey, light and dark grey, blue-lilac, black. The andesite paver is frost and abrasion-resistant, non-skidding with high carrying capacity, that is why it is an important building and decorating stone. Due to these important physical properties its usefulness has been known for centuries, and it is widely used nowadays, too. As exterior stone veneer it is indispensible ornamental component of plinths, stonewalls, columns, balconies, stairs, walkways, at the same time being a popular natural indoor paver for wall cladding, too. The andesite can be acquired in irregular (raw) or cut-to-size slabs, its blast resistance makes it widely used as carved cobblestone, which is an important and quality veneer for drive- and walkways.
