Pietra Serena Flamed Finished

ght bluish-grey sandstone with medium grain and evident parallel orientation to the layer of constituent crystalline granules, accentuated by the micaceous lamellae. Rock without cavities or micro cracks, the interstices are completely occupied by the fine crystalline component and carbonatic concrete. It is predominantly made up of quartz, feldspars, mica and fragments of silicate and carbonatic rocks.
According to the petrographical study and Q-F-(R+C) Folk diagram, the composition of Pietra Serena varies from lithic arkose to feldspathic litarenite. In terms of its physical and mechanical characteristics, it can be defined as a heavy stone that is compact, not very porous and frost-resistant. It has excellent workability, with mechanical resistance typical of sandstone, making it ideal for ornamental use such as external cladding.
