Product Description
Marmifera, and Tosco Marmi Spa, have been operating in the marble and granite field since the ‘60s.
The owner and head of the group today, started the company in the 60’s when he was 20 years old, seeing a great business opportunity for the use of marble in the furniture field. This allowed him to make a name for himself in the ‘70s and ‘80s, in the market of marble and granite tables, reaching its peak in the ‘90s. After some time, Tosco Marmi succeeded in purchasing the exclusive Creola marble quarry, situated in Crevoladossola. The marble of this quarry, known as Palissandro, was used in the 14th Century for the construction of the Dome in Pavia and for the colonnade and statues of the Peace Arch in Milan. An impressive sculpture for Unicef, called The Egg of Peace, was built in Palissandro from this unique marble.
The Crevola quarry has proved to be Tosco Marmi’s most precious jewel, and it has given life to other associated companies, namely; OMG, Graniti Formazza, Graniti San Rocco Srl, to develop Tosco Marmi into a homogeneous Group, operating mainly in the production and processing of marble and granite. These developments have meant that the company is now able to supply finished products, blocks and slabs of Serizzo Formazza and Antigorio.
