The Chianche are a very old type of stone paving. The term Chianca has medieval origins and literally means "slab of stone". This type of historical flooring, made of very harsh Pugliese limestone, is still very common today in the Murge, Trulli and Salento areas, where it is used both indoors and outdoors.
