Bianco Carrara Quarry
Our Bianco Carrara Quarry is situated on the Apuan Alps on the side of Rovaccione, Canal Bianco area (Carrara, Tuscany), at 1.100 metres above sea level.
The following marbles are extracted from this quarry: Bianco Ordinario “D”, Bianco “C/D”, Bianco “C” and also some Statuario, the most suitable marble for carving statues and other kinds of sculptures because of its peculiarities: a very fine grain marble with a warm ivory ground which is particularly bright and has got very few veining. Because of all these features Statuario has always been highly appreciated by Michelangelo for his sculptures.
The average production of this quarry is 6.000 tons a year.
