Product Description

Tan Brown Granite is one of the most popular brown granites. Its complex and interesting patterns really make it a stone to be admired and desired by all. It has no other common names and is quarried in the Andhra, and Hyderabad regions of southern India.

When seen from afar this stone is clearly a two-tone granite and both the black and brown minerals in this stone are very visible creating an irresistible effect which draws the eye of anyone who enters the room.

They are very lightly mottled with lighter grey tones which help lighten the stones overall appearance slightly. However, it becomes very apparent that the brown minerals that give this stone its name are much more varied in color than when viewed from afar.

The brown spots can range from almost metallic copper brown in color through to dark chocolate brown in some sections. The darker browns are usually less common, and the overall appearance will be of the light copper brown in general. The darker browns simply accentuate the already stunning color combination of the light brown and blacks in the stone.

There is not a lot of variation in the mineral content of this stone. You may occasionally find a slab that has much darker brown than normal. However, the overall density and ratio of the brown minerals will remain the same.

Tan brown granite countertops are by far the most common usage of this stone, many people combine the countertops with splash backs too at minimal additional cost.

When combined with white cabinets and lightly colored walls – tan brown granite countertops really dominate the room. The dark black and brown colors are a perfect contrast to the light cabinets.

However due to the light brown tones in the stone, the overall effect is not too clinical and contemporary. Which means it is possible to use the white and tan brown combination in a home that has more of a vintage or “homely” feel to it.

When combined with maple, cherry or lightly stained cabinets tan brown countertops effortlessly blend into the room. The black becomes almost understated and is no longer dominating the room.

Whereas the light brown minerals in the stone tie the cabinets and the countertops into one coherent masterpiece. To get this effect the color of your cabinets needs to be within the color range of the light and dark browns in the granite.
