F&M House Building, Walling Project with Jerusalem Stone

The site is located on a hilly area at the south entrance of Bethlehem. It is a single family house built on a site area of approximately 2,000 sq m.
The design strives to integrate the architecture to the topography through its formal response to the sloping landscape. The plan of the house is organized around a central patio, bringing light to the all the living spaces, and enhancing visual interaction between them. Inspired by traditional Bethlehimte houses, the patio “hosh”, is a functional space, were different activities can take place through the day and the season. It provides also an ability to extend the spaces and flow into one another. The direct contact of the patio with the living spaces allows a cross natural ventilation. The traditional local withe manual dressed stone, contrasts with the lightness of the large glass panels.
