Split stones are best suited for paving small areas, squares, narrow streets, park paths, adjacent areas. This is an indispensable material for paving areas with uneven surfaces (on the slope). It gives an aristocratic look in combination with the ancient architecture of buildings.

Split stones usually have an uneven (torn) surface, which is not very comfortable to walk, especially on modern high heels. However, this disadvantage can be eliminated by shredding, which turns rough stone into pebbles with a smooth surface.

Advantages of Ukrainian basalt cobblestone:

• manual production - split basalt cobblestone is not made with the help of machines;
• durability (squares of many European cities are paved with Ukrainian basalt and granite decades or even hundreds of years ago; it easily withstands vibration and traffic loads, atmospheric processes);

• fast and simple paving (does not require special dimensions), which is especially important for the arrangement of narrow medieval streets and courtyards of private houses;
• the possibility of reuse (common in European cities is the practice of reconstruction of ancient squares and streets with cobblestones, which lay underfoot for many years);
• the ability to create a variety of patterns and mosaics through a combination of stone of different breeds and colors.

The cobblestone is packed in big-bags weighing 1.2-2 tons.
