Description
Following the precise survey of the Gothic fenestration to be restored, we produced a layout on a scale of 1: the blueprint. While taking into account the pairing of the stones together, templates -profile and counter-profile- have been manufactured to facilitate the drawing of curves, shapes, or other moldings on each element. The stone blocks were then cut and trimmed to the appropriate dimensions (block capable of encompassing the desired finished volume). They were then cut with traditional tools (cutter, step, scissors, gouge, etc.), then finished and assembled on the ground to perfect the fitting of the elements in them. Each stone has been named/numbered, in order to create the “device notebook“, which will allow installers to assemble the work without difficulty. The final finishes will be done in-situ by our stone fitters/cutters who will ensure that all the stones fit together perfectly.
