The numbers are also here to corroborate the solidity and dynamism of GRANITOS DEL VAL. Today we are extracting an average of 24,000 M3 of granite blocks per year from its 2 main quarries and we transform a total of 450,000 tons of stone into aggregates in our 2 crushing plants.

Gris Piñor Quarry
This quarry is located in Toen, about 7 kilometers away from the center of the city of Ourense. GRANITOS DEL VAL has extracted material in this exploitation for more than 18 years and currently has a maximum extraction capacity of around 800M3 of granite blocks per month.
GRIS PIÑOR, also known as GRIS MORRAZO, is geologically classified as a biotite granite, light gray in color with medium grain and incredible uniformity in its texture and color. These exceptional characteristics make this granite excellently received in a market as demanding as that of funerary monuments. Naturally, being a superior quality gray, we can also find it in various public works projects throughout the European Union and in the United States in the form of paving stones, slabs, curbs, street furniture or other stonework products.

Gris Morrazo Granite or Gris Pinor Granite is a light gray, compact, medium-grained rock with irregular fractures. It is classified as “biotite granite” and its reserves can be considered medium to large. Its average grain size ranges between 1.5 and 2.5 cm and presents a low degree of alterations, perfectly accepting any type of surface finish without suffering losses in polishing or alterations over time. It can be used both outdoors and indoors.
