Process of extraction and transformation of lava stone
The manufacturing and transformation processes take place within the operational headquarters in Ercolano
(NA), on the slopes of Vesuvius and it is here that the stone blocks extracted from the Sicilian quarry of Camporotondo Etneo (CT) are transported.
The entire site, approximately 60,000 m wide, has made it possible to divide the area into 3 sectors:
1. Block storage,
2. Storage of finished products;
3. Pavilion for cutting and finishing.
The lava blocks are destined for different cutting phases:
A) Sawn into rough slabs of various thicknesses, using multi-wire or mono-wire, and subsequently finished according to the techniques of bush-hammering, polishing, sanding, etc. and then sent to be cut to size.
B) Cut into strips used for road and private paving, or brought back to the factory for custom cutting
C) Lava stone can also be ceramicized to create home design products such as garden tables, benches, planters and more.
The use of high precision machinery represents that peculiarity which, combined with historical experience in the sector, makes the Company the point of reference for operators in the sector.
