Concord Terrazzo Tiles range of finishes suit all types of consumer design needs. Finishes come as polished, honed and brushed. As one might expect, the chosen finish will impact the appearance, and slip resistance of the tile. Please refer to the table below to review the gloss (appearance) and coefficient of friction (slip resistance) characteristic of the various finishes.
Concord Terrazzo Tile provides extremely high durability by virtue of its composition regardless of the finish. Our tiles are more resistant to abrasion than ceramic or quarry, for example, and thus will maintain its finish longer and require less maintenance.
TERRAZZCO is now an associate member of the NTMA, providing precast terrazzo products to terrazzo contractors, designers, and architects.
DIVERSE OPTIONS
TERRAZZCO® offers natural, recycled and exotic chips varying in color and sizes. We crush, process and package all chips at our warehouse location in Charlotte, North Carolina with a healthy stock ready to go for terrazzo, landscaping and other construction projects. Aggregates come in standard sizes; however, can be supplied in other sizes upon request.
ECONOMIC AND SUSTAINABLE
Many of the aggregates provide additional green benefits with thin-set epoxy terrazzo. Use of post-consumer recycled glass chips and marble chips are sustainable choices that reduce the use of virgin materials in construction projects. In fact, aggregates supplied within 500 miles of a project site can help award architects and designers with LEED points.
GREENGUARD GOLD
GREENGUARD Gold Certification (formerly known as GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification) offers stricter certification criteria, considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and elderly), and ensure that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is acknowledged by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.
Concord Terrazzo Company is committed to environmental responsibility. Air quality is a major challenge in today’s construction environments. Exposure to volatile organic compounds from building materials is a concern among many as various products containing high chemical emissions pose a health risk for people occupying a building.
The Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Program was developed to aim at reducing the exposure of VOCs from building materials in new construction and renovation projects. All TERRAZZCO products were tested by a third-party to be VOC-free, obtaining GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certification. This means any epoxy terrazzo floor containing TERRAZZCO Brand Products contributes to improved indoor air quality, great for sustainable architecture projects.
