Engineered stone is a manufactured product, categorized as quartz surfacing. It is composed of 93% quartz and other natural products and blended with 7% polymer resins and colorfast pigments. Manufactured in a controlled process, compacting the quartz with pressure and vibration creates the perfect surface product. This 7% , gives quartz a flexural strength that surpasses natural granite giving you a greater flexibility in usage .The engineering process also provides a highly consistent color and pattern giving you less visible seams. Engineered stone is extremely resistant to scratches, cracks and chips. Engineered stone is non-porous so it never needs sealing. It is stain-resistant, easy to clean and virtually maintenance-free. Quartz does not support the growth of molds or bacteria and is NSF certified for food preparation. The result is a superior countertop that is strong, with consistent color, and low maintenance.
