Terrazzo is a floor finish, which exist of marble aggregates or chippings of other materials, which are pressed in (un) coloured cement and polished after drying. Terrazzo is the Italian word for terrace. Due to evolved techniques, the creative freedom of terrazzo is bigger than marble floors. One can play with the colours and forms. Therefore the application is transformed from a cheap terrace covering to a more decorative one, like the mosaic ones in ancient times. Terrazzo is also used in kitchen dressers, this is called granito. It is extremely shock and scratch resistant. Inter-Materials can also supply raw materials for this application according to the demands regarding granulometry, hardness, porosity, etc.
