Petra Antiqua Chemical Sandblasting for Marble with Ageing Effect

APPLICATIONS

PETRA ANTIQUA is a chemical dissolving product in an aqueous solution with a highly concentrated acid base.

PETRA ANTIQUA produces marble corrosion through chemical sandblasting to give an orange-peel surface look. Using this treatment, you can achieve the same effect in 30 minutes as nature does over thousands of years.

PETRA ANTIQUA will chemically sandblast many coloured or non-coloured marble types. PETRA ANTIQUA’s great advantage is its easy application;it is recommended for treating small areas of materials like:Rosso Verona, Verde Alpi, Biancone, Trani, etc. but not granite or stone.

N.B.: to restore and protect chemically sandblasted marble slabs, once they are completely dry, the use of ANTIQUE MARBRE, KEOS/928 (water and oil repellent), CERAMARMO or WAXSTONE (a metallized halfrepolishable wax) products is recommended.

HOW TO USE

Dilution: It should be used undiluted.

Application: place the honed or glossy smoothed slab in a horizontal position and use a watering can or similar tool to bathe it uniformly with PETRA ANTIQUA. Leave it to act for 15-30 minutes, then rinse with plenty of clean water. For a more marked effect, repeat the operation but do not leave the product to act for more than 10 minutes. Always test the effect of the product on a small area of marble first. If the product produces a rich, white foam, the treatment is

effective. Leave PETRA ANTIQUA for 15 minutes, then rinse with water.

COVERAGE

Approx. 1 litre every 2-3 sq.m.

PRECAUTIONS

Always use the product in the open air or under a suction hood.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

The product must be stored in the original containers, perfectly sealer, at a temperature between 0 and 25°C and shielded from direct sunlight in ventilated area.

In these conditions, the product has a self-life of 12 months of the date quoted in the delivery note. If the material has been stored for longer than its recommended selflife, it might still be suitable, but this has to be determined beforehand by performing quality checks on its application-related properties.

For the best professional results, it is advised to test a small area first, for compatibility with the surface to treat and the desired effect. This preliminary testing is also useful to determine the consumption according to the characteristics of the material the product will be used for and to the type of processing. The reproduction, even partial of this product sheet is forbidden.
