The Blade The blade consists of two components, the diamond segments and the blade centre or the core. The Core Standard: The steel centre is a high-grade heat-treated , tempered steel disc, to meet highest demands the steel core is made of the best quality steel and the thick core prevents wobbling of the blades.
Silent Core: The silent core is made up of two sheets of metal separated by a sheet of copper to enable and improvement of 6-9 dBA in the noise level.
The Segments The segments contains a mixture of diamond and metal powder. The two components are pressed into a solid metal alloy which holds the diamonds. The segments are slightly wider than the blade core to enable the cutting edge of the blade to attack the material and prevent the blade core from rubbing against the material. - Softer segments cut faster but have a shorter life. - Harder segments cut slower but have a longer life.
Attaching the segments to the blade The segments can be attached to the blade in two different ways. Brazing The segments are attached to the blade by using silver solder. - Used on standard blades for wet cutting. - Do not use for dry cutting. Laser Welding The segments are welded to the centre using a laser beam. - Strongest bond possible between segment and blade core. - Suitable for wet and dry cutting.
