Product Description

HQS Diamond Wire adhere to a strict and advanced quality control system ensuring that our customers always have the best quality possible. Our testing equipment utilised for our R&D team play a very important role in developing new and improved production methods ensuring our life and performance is always “one step ahead” of our competitors.

The advantage of rubber wire for granite quarry

1. The specialised rubberizing process used ensures better adherence to the beads and support the inner cable, in particular when the cable are forced into tight bends. This normally happens at the beginning and end of quarry cuts. 2. The rubber used is more tolerant to increases and fluctuating temperatures caused by insufficient cooling water spraying, which frequently happens in quarry operations. This temperature effect on normal plastic wires will causes the plastic between the beads to soften and lose strength and ultimately delaminate from the inner cable causing bead rotation and loss in performance and life. 3. The flexibility of a cable fitted with rubber is superior thus reducing the risk of irregular wearing of the beads or more commonly known as “flat wear” or bead ovalisation. Additional information will be available upon customer’s request, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Operational inspections to improve life and performance:

• The rotation of the wire should be checked regularly. • The condition of the beads should be inspected or checked regularly • The condition of wire connections/ferrule & the first few beads near connections should be checked regularly. • Change the connections/ferrule when necessary • The cable tension is set between 250-300kg for a Φ4-5mm inner core cable • Adjust the linear speed of the wire according to the material being sawn. • Normal parameters when starting a cut should be around 30m/s once the bead is opened it should increase to between 35m/s to 38m/s

When starting a new cut, one needs to consideration the following in setting operational parameters:

• The type of material being cut. • Is it wire to be used first cut? • The height of the bench. • The power of the saw available to you for that cut. • Is it an up or down cut (meaning is the saw placed at the top of the bench, or is the saw placed at the bottom? • Make sure you have your crimper clean and ready for use, with enough ferrules or connections. Careful consideration of the abovementioned will ensure optimal wire performance in terms of: • productivity ( cutting rate); • cutting efficiency; • wire life.
