Naturally-Canadian Dimension Stone is a relatively new dimension stone company. Its assets include two main dimension stone prospects located in Newfoundland, Canada. Our focus is on dimension stone of ultramafic derivation with emphasis on soapstone and serpentine.
The Betts Cove soapstone deposit contains an estimated 200 million tons of high grade talc-carbonate soapstone. Colors range from grey to green-grey to black. This material is comparable to much of the soapstone on the world markets today. Tests have shown this deposit to be asbestos free.
The Bursey's Hill soapstone deposit contains an estimated 50 million tons of spectacular looking talc-carbonate-silica with breccia textures. The stone has a turquoise hue and breccia clasts are rimmed by white carbonate. This particular deposit is easily accessible and forms a large 1km x 1km tor which rises 70 meters above the surrounding terrain making it an ideal site for quarrying. Extensive research has yet to find a stone on the market comparable to this material.
