Karelia Red
Karelia red, a big grained, red granite, is being quarried in Virolahti. The lighter and more open version of the material is known as Carmen Red. Karelia Red is suitable for big projects in both polished and flamed. Nowadays the main market of the material is in China.
Robust and non-linear with a general hue of strong red. Red and roundish chrystals with a diameter of approximately 20-50 mm are typical for the material. The granite is beeing quarried in Virolahti, in the village of Ala-Pihlaja.
