Product Description
Dowlow Limestone Dowlow stone is part of the Bee Low Limestone deposit of Lower Carboniferous age, a biosparite limestone. It is a unique blue/brown colour with darker markings giving this stone an exclusive feel.
Summary Uses
Cladding
Dowlow is suitable for use as external vertical cladding and should be durable in horizontal locations such as cills and copings. According to BS8298, the Dowlow can be described as a hard limestone and can therefore be used at a thickness of 40 mm subject to the limitations given in the standard.
External paving/Internal flooring
Dowlow limestone is suitable for use as internal flooring and external paving in at least moderately trafficked areas, such as an office (refer to BRE IP 10/00 for further details). Use of the Dowlow limestone as external paving would require appropriate design and specification of the material, including selection of an appropriate surface finish in order to control the risk of slip.
