Carpinis travertine white-yellow to yellowish-gray (medium-light); the quarry operated in the hills on Mures valley, near the town Simeria, Cartpinis village, Hunedoara country. Together with travertine of Geoagiu emerges as the only resource of its kind in the country.
Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by precipitation from hydrothermal solution. Textural appearance of travertine is given by density, size and the spatial gaps. Sometimes travertine can look breccias or rotten wood. Whith an average resistance to wear is used in vertical and horizontal cladding.
