Geoagiu travertine quarry is an opened quarry near the spa town Geagiu Bai, Hunedoara country, with the reason of axtracting travertine beage-brown (medium-dark). Together with travertine of Carpinis emerges as the only resource of its kind in the country.
Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by precipitation from hydrothermal solution. Textural appearance of travertine is given by density, size and the spatial gaps. Sometimes travertine can look breccias or rotten wood. Whith an average resistance to wear is used in vertical and horizontal cladding.
