Bearing steel grit
Steel grit blasting is ideal for aggressive cleaning applications. Steel grit is softer than aluminum oxide and does not fracture as easily, making it ideal for aircraft and aero-space applications. The angular nature of steel grit produces an etched surface on metal for superior adhesion of paint, epoxy, enamel, rubber and other coatings.
Different chemistries will lead to different operating results, depending on the size and hardness of the grit.
Hardness Selection:
|
Profile |
GP Steel Grit, (40-50HRC) |
GP Super Steel Grit rounds off rapidly in use and is particularly suited for removing sand of casting and scaling oxide. |
GL Steel Grit, (53-60HRC) |
GL Super Steel Grit is harder than GP Steel Grit. It loses sharpness during operation and is suited for plate and section preparation. |
GH Steel Grit, (>60HRC) |
GH Super Steel Grit has maximum hardness to maintain angularity during operation and provides a constant cutting (etching) action. GH Super Steel Grit is specifically designed for Air Blast Operations. |
